Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
