Multiple Affected as Rough Air Impacts A Delta Airlines Aircraft Landing at Sydney, Australia

A number of individuals sustained injuries when a Delta Airlines flight traveling from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia encountered turbulence this past Friday.

Delta Flight 41 "went through a short bout of rough air" as it touched down at the Sydney airport, a company official stated. Four flight attendants were injured.

The New South Wales Ambulance Service stated they treated five individuals, and took a trio to the hospital with relatively minor issues that included pain in the back and headaches. The patients' ages spanned from their 30s to 70s.

This marks the latest incident of commercial jets encountering turbulence, with experts pointing out that shifting climate patterns is a major factor.

The aircraft was carrying 245 people and a crew of 15 on the wide-body jet, the Delta spokesperson noted, clarifying that the plane arrived "safely and normally" at Sydney Airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday.

Paramedics reported they got a call just only 180 seconds prior to the plane touched down, and ambulances were ready and waiting at the airport.

Why plane turbulence is getting more common - and often stronger.
